Welcome aboard, Briefette.
Hey, I’m Emma a writer and Head of Content living in Glasgow, Scotland.
I started the Briefette as an antidote to internet overwhelm: to have a direct conversation with like-minded women in a way that *feels meaningful*. Social media can make you feel like you’re making the wrong decisions and like life is passing you by while you struggle to decide what to have for dinner.
Here you’ll find essays and articles about style, beauty, culture, books, cities, wellness, relationships, and careers - in a way that feels like sisterly advice.
More than just a newsletter, I want the Briefette to be a community of smart, curious, and interesting people who help each other build big, beautiful, romantic lives.
Come on in, read a story, share yours. Discover a book! Buy a body wash! Book a trip! The best thing you can bring to this party is the most authentic version of yourself. Stay a while and hang with us x
Briefette 101
The Briefette
A Sunday newsletter with a long read from me and curated advice for the week ahead.
Chic of the week
A mid-week articles roundup with plenty of recommendations for what to eat, what to read, and what to wear.
Briefette Bookclub
COMING SOON. Join the Briefette Bookclub thread to discuss our monthly read. If enough BBC’s (Brifette Book Clubers) are down we meet virtually, with a themed cocktail, and some pre-prepared q’s and games.
Quite conventional really.
Briefette Bookshop
All of my recommended reads are in one place, with short reviews like you might find in an adorable little bookshop. Speaking of, when you buy from The Briefette Bookshop, you can choose for your book to be shipped by your local indie bookseller. They will receive 30% of the cover price ( the profit).
The Cool List
In my early 20s, I had a terrible boyfriend whose only goal in life was to make it to the NME cool list. How very Indie Sleaze. As petty revenge, I now curate my own cool list, and he will NEVER make it on there. But you (or a personal icon) might. Nominate someone pretty cool.
Expert Briefing
COMING SOON. Exclusive webinars with experts across health, beauty, wellness, careers, writing, marketing, and more.
Travelette
COMING SOON. The ultimate travel guides with *actually* cool things to do, the best bars, and the most exciting places to eat. Plus, tips from my exact formula for trip planning.
Brief Encounters
COMING SOON. It’s tough to do things in your 30s. Even if you have great friends, they aren’t often available or no longer like the same things you do. Also, there’s nothing more disheartening than when your partner can’t summon the enthusiasm for the brunch place you’ve been dying to try.
Well, say hello to your new group chat. IRL member meet-ups organised by city. Paid subscribers only.
